Our tracked grinders fit through a 36-inch gate and take stumps 8 to 12 inches below the surface, so you can replant, lay sod or pour a patio.
How we handle stump grinding
A leftover stump attracts carpenter ants, sprouts suckers and gets in the way of mowers. Grinding is faster and cleaner than digging, and it leaves no crater. We grind the stump and major surface roots into chips, then backfill or haul them depending on what comes next.
Before we start, we call Oregon Utility Notification Center (811) for locates, so underground lines are marked. Chips can stay as mulch or be removed and replaced with topsoil for planting.
