From one truck to the metro's storm crew
Cody Halvorsen started Timberline with a used chip truck, a climbing kit and a single rule: no job is worth someone getting hurt. He had spent a decade climbing for other companies and seen too many near misses written off as bad luck.
The company grew one neighbor referral at a time, mostly on the east side of Portland at first. The February 2014 ice storm changed everything. Crews worked 19 straight days, and the storm line we set up that week has never been turned off since.
Today we run five climbing crews, two bucket trucks, a 38-ton crane and a dedicated plant health care team from our yard on NE Columbia Blvd. Cody still walks estimates every week, and every crew lead still holds the same rule.

Safety is the job
Every morning starts with a tailgate briefing and a signed job hazard analysis. If conditions change, anyone on the crew can stop work, and nobody gets second-guessed for it.

Leave it cleaner
We rake, blow and walk the property with you before we leave. Chips stay only if you ask for them.

Straight talk on trees
If a tree can be saved with pruning or cabling, we say so, even when a removal would be a bigger invoice.

Show up when it counts
Storms do not keep business hours, so neither does our dispatch line.
